To make things even more confusing, Texas law contains two different crimes for drunk driving - Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) and Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol by Minor (DUI). It doesn't help that across the country, states have created a variety of different names for what people usually just call "drunk driving" - DUI, DWI, OVI, and OWI. Most people don't understand what the terms "DUI" or "DWI" mean and use them interchangeably. what's the difference? Well, if you live in Texas - a lot.
